Planning Region: High Divide of Idaho & Montana

High Divide of Idaho and Montana
This area of Idaho and Montana links together the core protected areas in Greater Yellowstone, the Crown of the Continent, and the vast Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in Idaho. The High Divide region straddles the Continental Divide along the Centennial Mountains and includes the Madison and Jefferson rivers, which combine with the Gallatin to form the great Missouri River. The region of mountains and river valleys is an important migration corridor and is home to Montana´s largest concentration of elk.

Several of our Heart of the Rockies partner land trusts are part of the
which is currently focused in the southern region of the High Divide, on the connectivity between Yellowstone National Park and the Central Idaho Wilderness.
